AINA members' freight interests are represented through the auspices of Sea and Water.

Sea and Water was established in 2003 to address the challenge. Its aim is to raise the profile of water as the freight transport mode of choice, and to highlight what Britain's 2,000 miles of inland waterways, rivers and estuaries and its 11,072 mile of coastline have to offer, to benefit business, the environment and society.
It is supported financially by the Department for Transport and the water-freight industry through supporters' subscriptions and sponsorship.
It promotes water as a commercially and environmentally-sustainable mode of transport for freight in the United Kingdom. Our primary objective is to achieve modal shift: that is, move more freight off the roads and onto the water.
