Wet Dredgings Group
AINA is convenor of the industry-wide Wet Dredgings Group which brings together representatives from navigation authorities, drainage authorities, dredgings contractors, officials from Defra’s Waste Management Division and regulators from the Environment Agency to discuss issues pertaining to the management and disposal of wet material dredged from inland waterways.
In 2008 the Wet Dredgings Group issued via its website, “Waste Management for Dredgings Operations – Good Practice Guidance for Inland Navigation Authorities” which was endorsed by the Waterways Minister.
