RIVER AVON NAVIGATION: GENERAL MANAGER

A new unitary charitable organisation is being formed to run the 47 miles long River Avon Navigation between Tewkesbury and Stratford-upon-Avon at present managed by two trusts. An appointment of General Manager is being created to manage this process and to be responsible for the overall successful operation of this statutory navigation. He/she will be responsible to a Board of Management.

The Manager will set a programme to be agreed with the directors and deliver it within budget each year, provide a standard of service which meets the needs of all customers, and manage a small full and part time staff. Applicants need to demonstrate experience in a managerial role, perferably with waterways and involving business development, and will need the vision, qualifications and ability to meet the exciting and challenging opportunities. Attractive salary package negotiable according to experience.
